The Chicago Architecture Foundation presents this program in conjunction with the opening of The Landscape Architecture Legacy of Dan Kiley on April 17, 2017. Julia Bachrach will provide three evening presentations exploring the roles of such landscape luminaries as Frederick Law Olmsted, Jens Jensen, Alfred Caldwell. Participants will learn to “read the landscape,” and better understand the context for Dan Kiley’s modernist contributions to Chicago and to American landscape architecture. The program concludes with a 5-hour tour highlighting many of the city’s loveliest parks including Kiley’s local work.
