Tuesdays, 2-4 pm September 18 – Oct 2, 2018
60 W. Walton Street, Chicago
Since the early history of Chicago and Illinois, women’s contributions to the city and the state have often been overlooked. Julia Bachrach will lead this seminar that explores the lives and work of many significant Chicago women who overcame great obstacles to achieve success. Recent initiatives to honor and recognize the contributions of women – through park names, monuments, and exhibits – will also be illuminated. The third session will meet at Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens (1801 South Indiana). The last session of the seminar features a tour of Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens and Widow Clarke House.
Register online at Newberry Library.
